In 2003, Natasha began studying with Tim Miller; that year she took his teacher training and has been teaching Ashtanga Yoga ever since. Her classes themselves are an invigorating combination of discipline and fun which focus on proper alignment, the building of strength, and individual improvement. Her experience, energy, and enthusiasm inspire her students to grow stronger both physically and mentally. Workshops will deconstruct and rebuild postures from the Primary Series in order to safely unfold the hips, float through transitions with strength, and invert with confidence. In the Mysore Style tradition students are given individual instruction within the group setting. Students new to the Mysore method will be introduced to the Primary Series, a sequence, beginning with the Sun Salutation and Standing Poses. Through repetition students gradually commit the sequence to memory and take the first steps toward establishing a personal practice. Each student will receive individual instruction and hands on assists as they practice and advance through the series at their own pace.

Experience the Ashtanga Full Primary Series in the led format. Natasha will lead the entire class together through the challenging sequence of postures using the traditional vinyasa count to create a potent moving meditation. A strong physical practice, a minimum of one year consistent flow yoga experience is recommended.
Friday, May 4th: Learn to Float, 5:30-8pm
Refine the three essential poses of the “vinyasa” - chaturanga, upward dog, downward dog - and establish the foundation for weightless transitions. Gain the tools to enhance your ability to gracefully float from the top of the mat to chaturanga and from downward dog back to the top of the mat. Learn a step by step progression that builds the pendulum strength and buoyancy necessary to jump through to a seat and to transition back from a seated position to chaturanga.
Saturday, May 5th: Hip Opening, 1-3:30pm
From Warrior 1 to Lotus pose, this workshop is an in-depth look at the hip opening postures of the Ashtanga Primary Series. The Primary Series is designed to restore the natural strength and mobility of the hip joint through a series of standing and seated postures that explore its six different fundamental actions. Physically and energetically the Primary Series grounds and roots the student through its focus on the hip and lower extremity's relationship to the Earth.
Sunday, May 6th: Back Bends, 12-2:30pm
The natural response of the body in the face of fear is to retract - physically and energetically - in protection of our most vulnerable part: the heart. Backbends create an opportunity to choose the opposite action: to open ourselves to the world. Backbends revitalize and strengthen the spine, harness the power in the legs, stretch the muscles of the hips and help to open the shoulders and chest. Increase your range of motion and develop a mindfulness of the spine that improves posture and may alleviate some types back and neck pain.
