Cara Headshot Sari.jpg

With Kali Om

In this retreat-in-the-city, we will learn about the body-mind connection, and how timeless yoga techniques and philosophy can be used to cultivate a sense of deep inner peace. We will use basic yoga postures, breathing practices, chanting and meditation to manage our moods – such as lethargy, racing thoughts and worry/negativity. We will also discuss how small changes in diet and lifestyle can help you calm your mind and emotions. You will go home armed with practical, time-tested tools to help you find peace through your practice.

Based on the teachings of Sri Dharma Mittra, this workshop is suitable for all levels of student; modifications will be given so that everyone feels comfortable/challenged.  Please note that this workshop is not intended to be a substitute for therapy or medical treatment, but can serve as a support to current treatment.

We’ll weave yoga philosophy and active, ongoing meditation into this energizing and uplifting practice, which will also include asana, pranayama and chanting.

Saturday, September 22nd I 4-6:30pm I De-Stressing the Subtle Body: Yoga Nidra and Balancing the Chakras

Focusing on the relationship between the three bodies, our calming and purifying practice will include Yoga Nidra and Divine Purification.

Yoga Nidra is an active, lying down meditation that purifies, rejuvenates and energizes all of the body’s systems, bolstering its natural healing capacities and relieving depression, anxiety, headaches, and cravings.

Divine Purification includes special breathing, chanting, visualization and concentration techniques to help open the nadis (sublte energy channels), calm the mind, and stimulate the chakras.

Sunday, September 23rd I 11:30 - 2pm I Finding Balance

Our final, balancing practice will include asana, chanting, breathwork, meditation and philosophy, integrating what we learned over the weekend and reviewing practices for anxiety and depression.
